Heigh Ho Community! I am looking for a suggestion on LL at Hollywood Studios on 12-18.
I booked my 3 LLs based on Family Preferences of Attractions. We have an...
11:15 Tower of Terror. This is my Wifes favorite and while I may try to get a better time by playing those Genie slots in the coming days/morning of. I REALLY would be playing Russian Roulette messing with this one lol.
1;25 Toy Story Mania. This is everyone's Second or Third Fave on the Tier 2 Level. So I grabbed it.
3:00 Slinky Dog. I have watched our dear host enough to keep this one locked unless by the Magic of the Slots moving this one up.
My question is should I keep the 1:25 Toy Story or get a Burner Ride just to do early to unlock more attractions. Like a Star Tours or Muppet 3D.
To add some more color. I have a daughter with Autism who has the DAS. The LLs are for the rest of the party who couldn't be placed on it.
Also in the past she has hit her burnout of the Park by 4:00PM ish. she is 3 years older than when we last left so that may be better or worse. Thats a whole lot of exposition to simply ask, should I sub out Toy Story Mania and get an earlier Burner ride to unlock more attractions earlier.
Any advice or opinion would be appreciated.
Jason, so glad you had a great time! And your wife sounds awesome lol. How did you like Jollywood?
Really pleased you had a great time. Hollywood Studios is my favorite park, i love all the rides.
How busy did it feel? Got any highlights?
Just to tie off the post... The Vacation was WONDERFUL! The strategy of doing Star Wars worked out great. Toy Story Mania was gone EXTREMELY early on Thursday. At 1:15 I was able to get as early as 2:15 but we held off ad got it at the end of the night. My wife Surprised me with Jollywood Tickets that night so we had it covered no matter what. However the waiting until 1:15 strategy worked out great. With our Lightning Lane that day we rode everything but didn't see Indy or Frozen. We opted instead to do some standby riding of Tower of Terror, and Rockin Roller Coaster.
@Kiran, thanks for the times. I'll be on the lookout.
@Craig Culp we are rope dropping but are not staying on Property Unfortunately. That's why I leaned on getting the Star Tours 10 Min after opening and then we'll head Mickey/Rockin Roller Coaster way
If it were me, I'd book a 9am Star Tours instead of the Toy Story Mania, to allow me to get more Tier 1 rides in. The reason being you're spending the majority of the morning without any lightning lanes and doing a 9am Star Tours will "unlock you". Waiting until 11:15am to unlock may put you at a disadvantage to others.
Obviously it's entirely up to you and how your party want to do things. As other people have said you will likely still get all the rides done if you keep it the same.
Also, not that I want to encourage other YouTube channels on the EarScouts forum! But Mammoth Club did a pretty good lightning lane guide on Hollywood Studios:

Speaking from data analysis and not experience, it seems like you should keep Toy Story Mania. It is far more likely to sell out before the day than the anything you don't already have.
The only other Lightning Lanes that can sell out early in the day are Mickie & Minnie's and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. It's very likely you'll be able to book Mickey & Minnie's and Rock n' Roller Coaster when you tap into Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash respectively. Depending on how busy the day is those may not be until later in the day though. Looking at today's data, you would have had return times before 4pm, but Monday they would have been 5pm.
Assuming you want to do both of those rides. I'd rope drop Mickie & Minnie's and then book Rock n' Roller Coaster when you tap into Tower of Terror. It's very probable you'd be done the major rides by 4pm with lots of time between your LLs to do short standbys and shows. Once you tap into Slinky at 12:25 you'll be able to book additional LLs with quick return times. Again, take my advice with a grain of salt because I'm just basing this off of what I see on thrill-data.com and not from actually doing it.
Craig thanks so much.
Good News is I already got Slinky Dog up to a 12:25.
Hi Jason! For what it’s worth, that’s what I would do depending on how many Tier 1 attractions I’d want to get to. Are you planning on rope dropping? You can usually knock out at least one Tier 1 that isn’t Slinky Dog Dash lol.
