We're at Magic Kingdom (Dec 2)- our 7th park day in a row and first day we bought Genie+ (we found the first 6 days manageable without, including MK on a MVMCP day). We stacked a few while we had breakfast reservations and BBB. This afternoon we felt like superstars with ride after ride. Were from Canada and bought a US SIM card- Disney wifi can be a bit spotty/slow, so this was helpful. Genie also drained our phone batteries faster, so we used our portable battery pack. Great day!!
I tried but didn't have much luck on my recent trip (sept 5-9). Mostly no new times either way I tried. But since the parks weren't super crowded, it wasn't a big issue.
Only as needed, thanks to your tactics, we have always won!
On our first trip after the implementation of Genie+ I needed to do my research! That is how I found Ear Scout! After watching several videos (we watch so many!) I was ready to try my hand at Genie+ on our return trip. Playing the Genie Slots was a game changer, especially the day we park hopped from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom. I did exactly what Rob recommends and booked my first LL for Magic Kingdom at 9am after checking into my first at Animal Kingdom. This allowed me to play the Genie slots before we even stepped foot in the park to stack our LL for our second park while enjoying Animal Kingdom. With this strategy I was able to stack Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and Big Thunder Mountain. It allowed us to knock out pretty much all of Frontier Land, Adventure Land, and some of Fantasy Land after park hop hours starting at 2pm. We were doing a full day at MK later in the trip so this gave us some wiggle room with our plans having knocked out several of the big attractions.
We also played the Genie slots a good bit in Hollywood Studios. We were able to pack in all the major attractions and gave us the ability to enjoy our day. We didn’t always get the best return time, but we made it work with going to a different attraction before or getting to meet characters while we were walking to the attraction.
Highly recommend playing the Genie slots!
Hey Rob!
First, thank you for creating this website version of your content.
Here was our experience playing the genie slots.
Peter Pan was the hardest to get the time moved up. Every time I got better time slot, Disney would change the time on the confirmation screen. I probably played for 60 minutes
Pay attention to the time gap between when you are trying to book versus when the next LL is available. In my opinion this is a gauge for how busy it is. If it's 8AM and the next available time is already 3+ hours after park opening then you want to book that ride sooner rather than later. Otherwise you are looking at post dinner return time.
We are a group of 6 and I was able to get our time slot moved up every single time.
I think when you have a group of 6+ you will need to keep refreshing more than a single or group of 2. Do it during breaks or take turns.
Playing the slots will drain your battery so plug into a battery pack early and often
In summary, if you really want to ride something, but the return window is far away. Just book it and play the slots!
The Disney Genie Slots were a lifesaver during my holiday back in May. I played them at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom (did Hollywood Studios After Hours so didn't need them then) with massive success, and never had to play more than a few minutes! I studied Rob's videos like revising for an exam before I went, and created a document with all the key tips! Made for a seemless hassle-free time at Disney World (my Mum who I pushed around the parks in a wheelchair thought I was mad as I was zig-zagging from one side of the parks to the other at great speed to each reservation)!
The best tip of all though was the stacking of Genie reservations if you don't hit the parks until the afternoon. The cast member who gave me the park ticket on the first day laughed when she saw how many rides I had stacked (plus I'd booked Lightning Lanes for Tron and Seven Dwarfs), and said she's never saw anyone who had managed to arrange so many rides at once! :-)
I'm just now realizing that when the post title is a question, I can't give a like to the comments. It's just an up-or-down vote. Still figuring this new site out, clearly. 😂
I love playing the Genie slots! Unlike casino slots, I only have to pay once and I almost always come out a winner 🤣 We're not really morning people, so I like to stack my LL's for later in the day. Playing Genie slots let's me get the times I need for later in the day. It's also super helpful as my husband qualifies for DAS, but doesn't like to do a ton of rides. So if one of his DAS return times interferes with a LL return time, Genie slots can make that an easy fix
The Genie slots are the BEST way we have found to get amazing return times. I have done it on several trips and have had success each and every time! It is now my go to number one recommendation to people! We basically went from ride to ride to ride each time with breaks only when we wanted them! Amazing technique!
It was the deal maker for Genie+. I came to have confidence in my ability to improve on times and therefore became less obsessed with staring at my phone all day. I waited until we were in line and played the slots for the 10 minute wait. Did not interfere with family time either
I played the slots on Monday October the 16th one of the busiest days I have see At the park - and it worked great - we had a fantastic time and rode everything we wanted to. (Note we did not want to do Peter Pan or Navi river but it was fun )
I've played the slots multiple times! Every time I do it ends up being a more enjoyable day. It is the best strategy for optimizing your day if you ask me.
