Hi, my mom requested an 80th birthday trip with all her kids and grandkids. Of course it's during a peak week, the week before Easter. I've been planning for 9 people for the last 11 months. I read and watch about when using lighting lanes the day of your park visit it's better to split up the group or it may take longer to get what you want. Not sure if this is a silly question, is this the case when booking 7 days prior to the trip as well? We have 5 day passes, should I be splitting the group in two in hopes of getting overlapping times? Or see what I can get with our entire group together? I am worried after all this time planning, booking dining, etc. I am going to ruin it a week before the trip and not be able to get any top choice rides. Any tips and tricks welcomed, please help! We are frequent visitors, but not with a group this large. The last time we were a group this large it was paper fast pass! :)

I would not split the party and use your 7 day window to get the hardest to get rides and then build your day around it.
I have heard podcasts with people in large groups and they have been successful with llmp.
It's a good question, I've not seen any advice either way on that. If it were me, I think I'd be trying for them all together as there should still be decent availability that far out.
I remember the good old days of paper fast pass!
