Capacity during New Years week?

Hi so we are booked at Boardwalk hotel new years week. We like to take breaks during the day but I’m hearing we might not be able to get back into parks due to capacity. Can someone explain the likelihood this will happen and the levels of capacity situation?

Hi Rebecca - I think this will depend on the kind of ticket you have. If it is an Annual Pass or an undated ticket where you need to make a park pass reservation, then you are good to go as long as you have that park pass reservation for Epcot. You should not be affected if they stop folks from hopping in because you are not hopping. If you have the kind of ticket that no longer needs park pass reservations, then I think the park you start your day in is considered the park you have "reserved," so you would not be affected if they block park hopping. I will make a note to ask about this at Guest Relations the next time I am at a park and will get back to you. Great question!

We plan on just getting standard 4 days park tickets (not annual passes) for the dates we will be there. Which includes 12/30&12/31 . This will definitely effect the trip if we cannot re enter a park 😬. I heard you cannot re enter EVEN if you started at that park. Hope that’s not true. Womp womp! lol lmk if ya hear anything

Hello again! I have chatted with multiple Cast Members at multiple Guest Relations offices and gotten multiple answers. 😂 It seems no one is quite sure what happens if you are NOT park hopping and the park is at capacity, but the majority seemed to think you would be allowed in because you are not hopping and you are already accounted for in the capacity determination. That said, one of the Cast Members suggested that you might want to make a dinner reservation inside Epcot. She said that they tend to make exceptions for folks who have a dining reservation when the park is at capacity even when park hopping, so since you aren't even hopping, that seems like your best bet to bullet-proof your plan. I'd suggest Spice Road Table if you've never tried it. It's very tasty, surprisingly healthy and always easy to snag a reservation for. It also has lovely views of the lagoon. For what it's worth, we have done NYE at Epcot every year since we moved here and never had an issue entering in the afternoon with our park passes. We don't usually show up until 4 or 5 pm and there has never been a problem entering. Good luck - maybe we will see you there!
