Just last night on our first-ever Ear Scouts Jamboree over at Patreon, I was saying that I didn't expect Tiana's Bayou Adventure to open until very late in the year – most likely after Thanksgiving. Then Disney surprised everyone today by adding this upcoming ride to the list of Magic Kingdom Attractions on their website. Does this mean that Tiana's adventure might be starting sooner than we all thought? They did just invite a New Orleans-based news outlet to a sneak peek, and that comes on the heels of a string of Disney news sites remarking on the pace of progress on the attraction, from the updated queue to the newly-installed lanterns visible from outside the attraction just before the big drop.
After delayed openings of TRON and pretty much everything new over at Epcot, maybe Disney is working overtime to shed their Flash Slothmore-esque reputation when it comes to construction projects at Walt Disney World. Let's hope an early opening for Tiana's Bayou Adventure will have us all comparing them to Fix-It Felix instead.
When do you all think we'll get to experience our first voyage through the bayou?
Do you think they will allow Tiana to have an individual lighting lane? Or would it have a virtual que option?
They look to be making very good progress on this. I'm hoping for maybe a soft opening in May when I'm there :-) I'm still sad the classic Splash Mountain has gone, but I think this will be a pretty cool ride too, and I loved the Princess and the Frog movie!
I will be there in November 2024 - I do hope I will get to ride it then.
