As we work on our next videos in the Disney Resort Showdown series comparing the Moderate and Deluxe resorts, I'd love to hear from all of you: what is your favorite Disney Resort and why? Is there something you just love about your favorite that makes it extra special?

REAL Talk - we used a huge discount for AP holders to stay at the contemporary this year - and I almost wished we hadn't - It was AMAZING!!!! If I had unlimited budget I would stay there EVERY TIME!!
However because I am not expecting to stay there except every once in a while - I will say Coronado Springs - We have stayed there twice and for a couple with no kids - it just has so many options for food and lounges. The bus rides were easy and the rooms were super nice.
We stayed at Yacht Club with a discounted group rate and it was amazing, especially the pool and location near Epcot. We are staying at Swan soon and I am a bit disappointed to not have so much theming, but we will see how it stands up.
For the price and convenience, I'll always pick Pop Century! The skyliner is my preferred way to travel, especially during race weekends (big runDisney fan over here!) But PO-French Quarter is always an excellent choice as long as you don't mind walking (which I don't) since it only has the one bus stop. One of these days I'll rent some DVC points and can have more insight on those hopefully!
Pop Century - we are both retired educators so budget friendly is a must. With that said Pop Century is by far our favorite. We recently booked at All Star Movies because Pop was full and we loved it. But the Skyliner at Pop is a deal breaker. I want to be at Pop.
I've stayed at all levels of resorts over my lifetime and right now my favorite is Pop Century! We really enjoy having access to the Skyliner and we don't spend a ton of time in our room so we don't need anything big or fancy. Just a place to lay our head at night. The rooms are comfortable and I love that one of the beds is a murphy bed, as it gives us extra space. You get easy access to other resorts via the Skyliner if you want something other than a quick service meal and I really enjoy the theming there. It's hard for me to justify the cost of a deluxe resort when we spend so little time there.
Value - Art of Animation
Though we have never stayed there, the resort has the best theming amongst the group. When they first opened, the food court was better than any other counter service on-property. To the point of rivaling the once famous Coronado Springs food court. I would go as far as to say that it was even better than many table service venues. Moderate / Moderate-Deluxe - Coronado Springs
Pre-convention center monstrosity being built. There may be some nostalgia since this was the first on-property resort we stayed at, which really was the catalyst to never staying off-property again, and becoming Dinsey-fanatics. The resort is one that though is amazingly immersive in the Central American look and feel, most Disney themeing around the resort is subdued. Deluxe / DVC
This is a bit of a toss-up depeding on the time of year, and event (e.g., MNSSHP, Wine and Food, (and beer!), Flower and Garden (and wine and beer), etc.) that we are planning to attend.
Wildnerness Lodge & Villas will always be the top contender and primary choice. We typically will do a split-stay and WLV is almost always part of the stay. The one time it wasn't, we all felt the trip Home was missing some of its usual dose of Pixie dust. From the moment one turns onto Timberline drive, walk under the main car-port, through the doors, and experience the grandure of the lodge.. how can one not be amazed and believe you are in the great North-West territories.
Beach Club Villas is a must during events at World Showcase, the pool, and its proximity to MGM and EPCOT / World Showcase. The addition of the Skyliner makes it super easy to resort hop.. Maybe a Skyliner Bar Crawl, similar to the Monorail Bar Crawl, is in order? 🤔 😎
Since the Polynesian Resort & Villas became part of the DVC family in 2015, this resort quickly became another main contender, overtaking Animal Kingdom Villas. From the Monorail, Tonga Toast, Tambu Lounge, Trader Sam's Deck, the resort's themeing and layout is just wonderful. Now that the walking path is open, taking a stroll to the Magic Kingdom gates is quite enjoyable.
My vote would be the Contemporary as my favorite, however, I haven't stayed there since 2005 so this is a bit biased. At the time, it was the only one you could walk to Magic Kingdom from and to me that alone is why I love it. At the time we were a family of 6 with an 18 month old but even now just being able to walk there would be ideal to me. We stayed in the cabins the next time and those were great space wise but transportation was a lot to get anywhere.
This last time it was just one of my sons & myself. We stayed at All Star Music and that was fine for a couple of adults who were trying to do a budget trip but still wanted onsite.
My family loves Yacht Club. We've stayed there our last 5 trips. We're Epcot resort people now since my kids are older (12 and 10) and MK isn't at the top of our to-do list. We always stay club level and the service is amazing, the water views exquisite and the food (in our opinion) is great. We were even upgraded to the vice presidential Commodore's Suite last December! That said...I just stayed at BW for a trip with my sister and loved it! Same great service and views but just felt a little more fun? Maybe I was getting bored with YC?? Going with my husband and kids in February and hope they love BW like I did!!
BoardWalk (3 pools & walk to EPCOT & DHS ..... plus all those restaurants within walking distance.... or Animal Kingdom (nothing like it in the USA 🇺🇸)
We have littles and love the family suites at Art of Animation. It has one of the best pools on property in my opinion and we love the skyliner. Before kiddos our fave was Port Orleans. Love the vibe there and the beignets. We still try to drop by on our trips just for the beignets. One day I want to stay in a savannah view room at AKL. It's on my Disney bucket list.
Yes, looking at Swan for another trip as the cost difference is massive in comparison.
If we are staying a couple of nights, we absolutely love staying at Riverside. Prices are pretty good with the annual passholder rate and we love that we can take a boat to and from Disney springs! It's a beautiful resort. If we're staying one night, we stay at any of the all star resorts just to get early entry perks and free transportation!
We are a family of 3 and we are exploring the different WDW resorts on our annual trips. We have stayed at various All-Star Resorts, Pop, and off site. So far, we have thoroughly enjoyed Caribbean Beach resort (preferred room). Yes, we hear a lot about how large it is and spread out, but we didn't mind we stayed in Bermuda and it was a short walk to the main pool, skyliner (game changer as a means of transportation), and the bus line wasn't as bad as we have read about. I personally thought it was much quieter then Pop and our daughter loved the main pool area, we also enjoyed the small pool area in Bermuda. Now, with that being said, we are staying at the Polynesian this spring and we are excited to experience our first deluxe resort! We also are looking at trying Disney’s Boardwalk on our next trip after this upcoming one, so always looking for insights!
We recently stayed at Beach club for the week. The location for us (couples trip) was fantastic, with the food and wine festival in progress at epcot and also a favourite park. The room was comfortable albeit with a very small bathroom. The marketplace was great for grabbing a mobile order breakfast and with a small seating area was able to take a moment before starting our day.
The Ale & Compass bar was great (yacht club) but we did not have a great experience in Martha’s Vineyard and actually received a full refund.
Cape May Cafe was OK as was Beaches and Cream but honestly we were a little disappointed with the on site restaurants in the Beach club side.
We were able to extend our checkout time by 1.5hrs which is the maximum and take a shower in the afternoon by the pool, leaving luggage with guest service as we had a late flight and enjoyed lunch in Epcot at Space 220 to end our trip.
We would stay here again but would probably eat Yacht Club side instead, but location was the winner here.
